3 :: Tell us how is working in fashion different today than from when you started out?

4 :: Explain me what trends do you currently see in the fashion industry?

It is imperative to always conduct your due diligence before an interview by reviewing the job description, company website and social media pages to familiarize yourself with the company and work involved.

Tell the interviewer about fashion trends you have identified in areas specific to the company you applied for. It is important to show the interviewer you did not apply to the advertised position simply because you are looking for just any job, but that you wish to work for this company specifically.

5 :: Please explain what Is Weather-wear Fashion?

Have you ever thought about what might someone be wearing where they live? Well, if you lived somewhere cold, you may have many boots and jackets. But others might have tank-tops and shorts. You could think this idea is weird, but that is because you live in a different place. If you know you live somewhere cold, wear appropriate clothing items. I hoped this helped you realize that fashion also has something to do with the weather.

6 :: Tell us how To Making A Toile (muslin)?

After making a rough paper pattern, or life-size 2-D plan, of the garment, a sample machinist (or skilled sewing machine operator) then makes a trial version of the garment from plain-colored calico. The toile (called a muslin in the U.S.) is put on to a dress stand (or a model) to see how it fits and whether it hangs properly.

7 :: Tell us have You Get Any Training For Fashion Designing?

This is another biographical interview question that relates back to the fashion designer's career is where he received his training. Some fashion designers have received extensive professional training in fashion design, including college degrees and high profile internships.

Others have received little to no training, relying solely on raw talent. The answer to this question tells you a bit about how the designer developed as an artist and also gives readers an idea of what it takes to become a successful fashion designer.

8 :: Can you describe your creative process?

You want to get a better idea of how this person thinks about the creative process: Does he rely on inspiration? Data? Just plain hard work? The answer to this question will also provide you with more information about what the designer thinks are the most important steps in the process -- such as research, interviews, the critique process, etc.

9 :: Tell me what shall we do with the drunken sailor?

Wait till he passes out and then nick his clothes. The nautical theme has bobbed up yet again. You'll have seen the sailor chic at Chanel, the anchors away at Sportmax, the yo-ho pirates at Jean Paul Gaultier. Stella McCartney even did dolphin prints, bless her eco-friendly socks. So, look out for wide-leg, button-front trousers (great at Urban Outfitters), stripes, brass buttons, naval-style jackets and maritime dresses (best at Gap). Or just head to Oasis for the striped jacket and white sailor pants.

10 :: Tell us in what general area of design do you work or wish to work?

The areas are generally divided into three groups: street fashion (mass-manufactured high fashion); ready-to-wear (small collections); and haute couture, where unique cat-walk garments are created mostly without practical considerations. Don’t try to impress employees with what you are not. If you are an expert in high street fashion – you will be appreciated and find plenty of work.
