How to debug an idoc?

Answer #1for outbound we can send through program or
functionmodule.but inbound idoc only through function
module.so its depends wheather it is outbound or
inbound.then we will debug

Answer #2WE19 is the tcode to debug the IDoc foreground. Its not a program level debug but functionally we can see all the individual steps and can know where the error occurred.
